How to Export Tasks & Conversations

You always have access to your tasks and conversations in DoneDone, but if you ever need to export that data to another tool or for backup purposes, there's an easy way to do it.

Exporting conversations from a Mailbox

  1. To get started, log into your DoneDone account and select the Mailbox containing the conversations you'd like to export.
  2. Click on your Mailbox settings (the three dots to the right of the Mailbox name) to reveal a drop down menu.

  1. From there, select Export Conversations.

  1. At this point, you will see all of this Mailbox's conversations listed according to their default filters, such as Due Now, Assigned to You, Inactive, etc. If you have any custom filters set up, those conversations will show up at the bottom of the page.

When you're ready to download your conversations, you have a couple of options. You can download either a CSV or an Excel file, depending on where you plan to export the data to. You also have the option to download just the conversations, or the conversations and the activity history associated with each conversation. This includes any actions taken, comments, and attachments that occurred in that group of conversations. To download your conversations, simply click on either CSV or XLSX and the download will begin automatically.

Exporting tasks from a Project

Luckily, exporting tasks from a Project basically follows the same steps as what's listed above.

  1. To get started, log into your DoneDone account and select the Project containing the tasks you'd like to export.
  2. Click on your Project settings (the three dots to the right of the Project name) to reveal a drop down menu.
  1. Click on Export Tasks.
  1. At this point, you'll see all of this Project's tasks according to their default filters, such as Due Now, Assigned to You, Inactive, etc. If you have any custom filters set up, those tasks will show up at the bottom of the page.

As with exporting conversations, you have the same options for downloading tasks. You can download either a CSV or an Excel file, depending on where you plan to export the data to. You also have the option to download just the tasks, or the tasks and the activity history associated with each task. This includes any actions taken, comments, and attachments that occurred in that group of tasks. To download your tasks, simply click on either CSV or XLSX and the download will begin automatically.
